A FAMILY hair and beauty business based in the heart of Devonport supported National Carers Week by offering special discounts and beauty treats for respite carers.V&V Hair and Beauty backed the national event, which ran from June 9-15, as part of a campaign to highlight the role home carers provide in looking after family members across the city.

Carol Boyd, her hairdressing brother Victor and sister Vittoria Roxon, recently opened the salon and invested £20,000 into a hairdressing business specialising in helping customers with special needs.

Ms Boyd said: “Many carers feel undervalued and we were proud to be supporting National Carers Week with treats and discounts to make carers feel good about themselves.”

V&V Hair and Beauty regards its customers as members and invites them to events such as hair and skin care sessions in the salon.

The owners have also installed shower facilities or people who want to “freshen up” before a night out without having to go home from work.
