THE WELLNER SECURITY BOX UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT
German business leader Dr Jorg Wellner recently visited Plymouth to look at security collaboration projects with city businesses.
Dr Wellner, who runs a communications technology business in Leipzig, is looking at security links with Plymouth and South West surveillance companies.
Dr Wellner said: “I met leaders at Clever Student Lets, Audax, Securi-Guard, and Applied Automation, and opportunities at the Hinkley Point power plant.”
The visit was arranged by Dorcas Media with the assistance and support from the Plymouth and Devon Chamber of Commerce.
Dr Wellner was also joined by the director of ICC Sprachinstitut James Parsons, who signed a 650,000-euro deal with Tellus Education Group earlier this year.
The German business leaders also met the new chief executive of the Plymouth & Devon Chamber of Commerce Mr George Cowcher, at the Suzanne Sparrow School to highlight the importance of the English language sector in the city.
Mr Cowcher said: “I’m delighted to be welcoming businesses from Leipzig to Plymouth for a second visit this year. International trade is an area of great importance if we are to grow our regional economy, and build relationships with international businesses and chambers of commerce overseas.”
