RAFFLES MEMBERS RAISE £800 FOR FYNN CAMPAIGN

A PLYMOUTH members club has rallied to support a three-year-old local boy Fynn Fleming – who suffers from cerebral palsy and needs a selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) operation, and will cost £38,000, and not available on the NHS.

Raffles Members Club near Mutley Plain, raised £800 in a fundraiser evening with games and live entertainment, said owner of the club Phil Gill.

Mr Gill, said: “We do a lot for local charities and our members who come from across the city was very happy to support the Fynn Fleming campaign to help raise monies so little Fynn can walk like his twin brother Leo.”

The evening was also supported by domestic, industrial, marine, and waste management company New Wave Marine and the Plymouth Paranormal Investigators group.

Jason Parsons, managing director of New Wave Marine, said: “It was a great evening of fun and games, live music, and all in a good cause.”

“The team at New Wave Marine have taken this campaign to support Fynn Fleming to our collective hearts, and we thank the many Plymouth businesses and organisations supporting Finns’ battle to walk,” he said.

Raffles Members Club is one of only a few venues left in Plymouth where live cabaret is performed and supports local artists, said Mr Gill.

“It served for many years as the RAFA Club for members of the Royal Airforce Association – until it was bought out by Phil Gill in 2006.
