GETTING CLEVER OVER THE CHINESE NEW YEAR

THE team at CSL celebrated the Chinese New Year with a series of special events that was held at the University of Plymouth. The Year of the Monkey officially begins on Monday 8 February, and was kick-started with two days of activities on the campus that included ‘Chinese Activities Day’ and sponsored by CSL.

The day included food and drink stalls, craft activities, lantern painting, dumpling making, and tea tasting, martial arts, beauty treatments, and traditional Chinese instruments, said Henry Hutchins, chief executive of Clever Student Lets.

Mr Hutchins, said: “Chinese New Year is always a major event in Plymouth and our chance to support the University and celebrate diversity in our great waterfront city. CSL works in China and especially launching our new designated website aimed at Chinese students wanting to study in Plymouth.’

“This is the sixth time the University has staged these celebrations and our company is proud to be sponsoring and supporting the event, that is welcoming to all people and ages across the city.”

The two days of events finished off with a spectacular gala dinner that included a three course dinner, ribbon dancers, hoop aerialists, pot juggling, and traditional lion dancers.
