GERMAN DELEGATION VISITING DEVON BUSINESS SHOW

THE biggest business delegation so far from the German city of Leipzig are due in Plymouth next month – and exhibiting at the Devon Business Show at the Pavilions.

The group have been invited by Plymouth PR agency Dorcas Media who is supporting the delegation with the assistance of the Devon Chamber of Commerce.

This is the second time representatives from eastern Germany are taking part in one of the region’s prestigious business showcases, said director of Dorcas Media, Kevin Kelway.

Last year language providers ICC Sprachinstitut signed a deal with Plymouth’s Tellus Education Group in a 650,000-euro partnership deal between the firms.

English-born director of ICC Sprachinstitut James Parsons, said: “The group includes a cross section of firms in Leipzig looking to develop partnerships with south west businesses and developing links with the Devon Chamber of Commerce.”

Mr Parsons, said: “This is my third visit to Plymouth and we have IT, archiving software, unique children’s products, and business networks looking to work with local entrepreneurs and companies in Plymouth.”

The German group has an early morning breakfast meeting with the chief executive of the Devon Chamber of Commerce George Cowcher who is delighted in welcoming the Leipzig delegation.

Mr Cowcher, added: “International trade is an area of great importance if we are to grow our regional economy, and build relationships with international businesses and chambers of commerce overseas.”

“I look forward in meeting our guests to discuss further development opportunities with Plymouth, Devon, and the Leipzig region.”
