FOUR NATION PROJECT SHARING BUSINESS PRACTICES

A small group of educational and business leaders from Plymouth visited Austria’s second biggest city of Graz that is located in the heart of Europe, and of comparable size to Devon’s largest city – to discuss shared business practices.

The visit was part of a four nation EU Erasmus Programme that includes the Netherlands, Finland, Austria, and the UK- to see how enterprise works in Graz, but also sharing best business practices, said the chief executive of the Devon Chamber of Commerce George Cowcher.

Mr Cowcher, said: “We were invited by City College Plymouth to meet business leaders, educational experts and policy makers, and see how Austria’s second- most important start-up hub centre, is meeting the global challenges.”

“I gave a brief presentation on issues facing our local firms and an opportunity to share experiences, skills, and best practices with our partners in Europe,” he said.

Director of International Trade Linda Middleton Jones together with Sarah Sinclair of City College Plymouth also attended the two-day visit.

The city of Graz in 1999 was added to the UNESCO list of World Cultural Heritage sites.
