NEW online business awards by Devon Chamber of Commerce are aiming to shine a light on the very best and most inspiring companies in Plymouth and across Devon.

The Chamber has changed the traditional format locally – so the process will be easier and totally online (only) from nominations, to judging processes, with no black tie dinner, and all winners will be announced on the Chamber portal.

“We are realigning our awards that will dovetail into the British Chamber of Commerce (BCC) Business Awards in London every year, and will increase the chances of more Plymouth and Devon businesses winning recognition on the national stage,” said the chief executive George Cowcher.

“Mr Cowcher, added: “The changes to our local awards process is to allow a smooth transition of business entries being adjudged worthy of (BCC) awards, at a glittering ceremony in the heart of London every November – so still keeping the glitz and glamour of traditional ceremonies.”

Categories up for grabs in the Devon Chamber Business Awards includes:

* Small Business of the Year

* Export Business of the Year

* Best Use of Technology

* Commitment to People Development

* Education and Business Partnership
