CHAMPAGNE, FISH & CHIPS FUND RAISER FOR FYNN

THE Harbour Restaurant on the Barbican is running an appetising ‘fish and chips’ fundraiser in association with New Wave Marine – to support an appeal to raise £38,000 needed – so a little boy can have a life-changing operation – not available on the NHS.

  Fynn, Katie and Leo Fleming

Three-year-old Fynn Fleming – who has cerebral palsy, needs a selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) operation, which will effectively cauterise the nerves leading from his brain to his limbs, helping to stop muscle spasms, and allowing him to walk properly.

The event on the 7th March at 6pm will start with champagne, locally caught fish and chips, with a selection of vintage ice creams, and washed down with Cornish Orchards Cider, said Micky Scott, assistant manager, at the Harbour Restaurant.

Mr Scott, said: “The night will include music from top Plymouth swing vocalist Michael Campari, and singer/songwriter Russell Sinclair whose genre is Alternative Blues and Rock music.”

“It will certainly be a night to remember with auctions and prize draws, and tickets will cost £15 each,” said Mr Scott.

Steve Oliver, MickyScott, and Gary Parsons

Gary Parsons, industrial manager at New Wave Marine, said: “We are very excited that the Harbourside Restaurant is giving up a night of its services and time to support the Fynn Fleming appeal.”

Steve Oliver, sales executive at New Wave Marine, added: “Over the last three months New Wave Marine have raised nearly £5,000 for the Fynn campaign, with some incredible donations and prizes from Plymouth businesses – especially on the Barbican.”

“The ‘fish and chips’ fundraiser is going to be a fantastic night,” said Mr Oliver.
